Strategic HR Australia is a specialist HR consultancy supporting growing organisations across Australia. Founded in 2024 by Elisia Coetzee, the firm draws on more than 27 years of experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations across both in-house and consulting environments.
Elisia’s career spans senior HR roles within organisations, followed by more than a decade working as an external HR consultant. Since 2013, she has advised businesses across a range of industries, providing practical guidance on compliance, employee relations, workforce planning, and complex people matters.
Strategic HR Australia was established to continue this work as an independent practice, offering experienced, specialist HR support to organisations that require clarity, judgement, and confidence in their people decisions, without building a full internal HR function.

Elisia Coetzee
DIRECTOR
Elisia has over 27 years of diverse Human Resource and business experience in South Africa and Western Australia. Elisia holds an MBA, a Master’s Degree in Industrial Sociology, and an Honours Degree in Human Resource Management from North West University in South Africa. She is also certified in EDISC and MBTI Profiling, a certified Business and Executive Coach, and a qualified Mediator.
Her career began with Bert’s Bricks, a group of companies in industrial services, encompassing brick manufacturing, tire re-treading, and tire services.
In 2007, she relocated to Australia, where she initially worked for a Civil Contractor in Karratha before moving to Perth to join a top tier builder. As the Human Resources Manager for Doric Constructions, she effectively managed the entire workforce, implementing structured business practices while adapting swiftly to a dynamic environment.

Previously, she served as the inaugural Human Resources Manager for Carr Civil Contracting (now known as WGMO Construction), where she played a pivotal role in more than doubling the workforce within 12 months by establishing a comprehensive HR department from the ground up.
For more than a decade, Elisia has specialised in HR and Industrial Relations consulting, supporting organisations through complex workforce matters including employee relations, award interpretation, policy development, performance management, HR and payroll audits, restructures, and organisational change. Her consulting work spans regulated, people-intensive industries where clarity, compliance, and sound judgement are critical.
Elisia is known for her steady, pragmatic approach to leadership and people matters. Drawing on extensive senior-level experience, she supports leaders to navigate complexity with confidence — particularly where decisions carry legal, operational, and human consequences. Her work is grounded in practical judgement, clear communication, and an ability to bring structure and calm to challenging situations.
